Red Scoria is a lightweight volcanic rock. Red Scoria is a decorative stone, but is not suitable for pathways or Driveways as it is lighter and softer and will crush over time if placed under a load. Red Scoria may be used as a long-term mulch as it helps the soil retain moisture and does not break down like wood-based mulches. Red Scoria is not just strictly red, there are odd coloured rocks scattered throughout but is generally a red colour.
Red scoria is very good for use in Wicking Beds.
